Chandrababu Naidu presided over the foundation stone-laying ceremony for Cognizant’s permanent IT campus, alongside groundbreaking for eight other major firms.

With a collective investment of ₹3,740.31 crore and the promise of nearly 42,000 new jobs, Vizag is no longer just a coastal beauty—it is officially the new frontier of the knowledge economy.


Cognizant’s Mega Investment: A Game-Changer for AP


Cognizant, a global leader in IT services, is setting deep roots in Andhra Pradesh with a massive ₹1,582.98 crore investment. This new campus isn't just an office; it's designed to be a "World-Class AI and Digital Transformation Hub."


Key Highlights of the Cognizant Campus:


  • Prime Real Estate: 22.19 acres in the Madhurawada/Kapuluppada IT zone, allotted at a nominal lease of ₹0.99 per acre under the state's aggressive IT & GCC Policy 4.0.

  • Employment Powerhouse: While the initial phase aims for 8,000 direct jobs, CM Naidu has set an ambitious target for Cognizant to scale to 25,000 employees within a year and eventually 1 lakh employees over the next five years.

  • Tech Focus: The facility will specialize in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Digital Engineering, and Cloud Solutions.

  • Timeline: While Phase 1 is slated for completion by early 2029, operations have already begun! Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated a temporary facility today at the Mahati Fintech Building, accommodating the first 1,000 associates.
